Liverpool Star Salah, Van Dijk Fit For Champions League Final 2022

Liverpool Star Salah Van Dijk Fit For Champions League Final 2022

Champions League Final 2022 scheduled at the Stade de France in Saint-Denis, on 28 May 2022, between Liverpool and club Real Madrid.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is confident that Mohamed Salah and Virgil Van Dyke will be fit to face Real Madrid in the Champions League final despite a win over Chelsea in Saturday’s FA Cup final.

Despite the Reds still vying for the Premier League title, both will be dropped from the club’s squad for Tuesday’s tour of Southampton as a precaution.

Asked if anyone would be able to play at St. Mary’s, Klopp said: “No. They’re both fine, so the goal for both of them would be to rejoin the weekend.

“It’s very positive, there’s no doubt about the final and we’re realistic about playing Wolves (Sunday), but for tomorrow, (we want) rather not.”

Pep Guardiola’s side drew 2-2 at West Ham on Sunday, giving the club’s men new hope that they could win the Manchester City title.

Defending champions City, with one game left, are four points clear at the top of the table with significantly better goal difference than their opponents who have two games left.

Liverpool completed the second leg of a possible quadruple, beating Chelsea on penalties in the FA Cup final over the weekend.

Brazilian midfielder Fabinho, who missed the cup final due to a muscle injury, is not yet ready to return, but Scotland defender Andy Robertson should be available after Saturday’s cramp.

“All I can promise and say for sure is that we will build a team for just one reason – trying to win the game at Southampton is as difficult as it gets.”

– City slip up? –
However, the Liverpool boss is not confident that City will give his side a shot to win the title against Aston Villa on Sunday.

“I’m looking forward to playing tomorrow,” Klopp said. “Is it a chance, a big chance? I won’t say that because I don’t know when City have historically lost points in two games in a row.

“So Aston Villa have to play in the middle of the week when they’re not used to it. I’m pretty sure they’re all professionals and that kind of thing, they want to go to City, but City are a pretty good football team. So, I don’t expect City to lose points there. . ”

Klopp says the FA Cup win, which came after Liverpool’s League Cup win earlier this season, eased the club’s pressure in the final weeks of the season.

“If we play a season the way we play and win the Carabao (League) Cup and fight to the end for the league title, it’s a really good season for me,” he said.

“It’s great that we’ve already won two (trophies), to be honest.

“If we lost in the final, the negative situation is that we will not be champions and in a few weeks you all will not be ashamed to remind me that it all depends on the success of a game or not and on these kinds of things.”
