Maritzburg United sign Hlongwane’s replacement

Maritzburg United have signed Bongokuhle Hlongwane‘s replacement just weeks after selling the striker to MLS side Minnesota United.

On Sunday, the Team of Choice unveiled Zambian striker Friday Samu as their player after acquiring his services from Green Buffaloes.

Ernst Middendorp needed a major boost in his striking department as Hlongwane was a reliable striker for Maritzburg United.

The departure of former Mamelodi Sundowns attacker Ali Meza also left Maritzburg United looking very thin upfront ahead of the second half of the season.

WHO IS MARITZBURG UNITED’S NEW SIGNING SAMU?
Samu is a 26-year-old towering striker with experience in the CAF Champions League where he competed with now former club Green Buffaloes.

He is reported to have already scored 14 goals for Buffaloes in the first half of the Zambian Premier League season.
