United is going to lose ‘gladiator’ Cavani

Manchester United News: Manchester United scored a winner in “Fergie time” and the aftermath was brilliant. Marcus Rashford may have scored the winner but all of United’s front four got involved in some way in the goal.

The moment Rashford tapped the cross of Cavani into the net, the Uruguayan international went wild. The video footage of the goal shows the ecstatic number 21 celebrating his teammates’ goal as if it was his own. However, the sad part for United fans is that he won’t be at Old Trafford much longer.

United displayed a much better game in comparison to previous weeks but they were not at their best against West Ham. However, they should thank their substitutes who got the job done.

The way United players celebrated the goal did one thing and that was to declare the reports of unrest in the dressing room. While celebrating the goal Scott McTominay ended up on the floor, while Bruno Fernandes, Harry Maguire, and Alex Telles all roared towards the Stretford End.

A goal celebration at United these days isn’t worth it without the mercurial Cavani. The former PSG man was a key contributor to the goal with a needle threading pass for Rashford.

Cavani is a prime example of a top professional. Whenever he is on the pitch, he presses like crazy, and his movements are still top-notch.

But all good things come to an end and it’s unfortunate for United. Cavani was initially signed after the club failed to sign Jadon Sancho two summers back.

El Matador as he is called, was unhappy when he received a ban for use of racial language. Even after his apologies, the ban wasn’t overturned.

The former Napoli man was due to leave last summer for Boca Juniors but Ole Gunnar Solskjaer convinced him to stay for one more season.

What did he say after extending the contract?

Manchester United News: He later explained his decision:

“As the time passed at the club, I felt closer to the fans and the people working for the club. On a human level, the bond created with everyone who is a part of the club is something I cherish. The level of affection I got from them was huge.”

“I can’t express my excitement to be at the club for one more season. I am going to try to do my best to make all the United fans happy. They are the heart and soul of the club.”

However, it looks as if the chance to move to his own continent is something he can’t let go of now. The three-time European champions haven’t even tried to tie him up this time.
